Hello! I’m Brigid, Owino a Birth and Postpartum Doula, a Mindful Birth Educator in training, and a passionate advocate for perinatal mental health. My journey into this field is deeply personal. During the pandemic, I gave birth to my first child under traumatic circumstances, leading to a challenging battle with Postpartum\Depression. When I became pregnant with my second child, I was overwhelmed with fear. However, with the support of compassionate professionals and loved ones, my second birth experience was healing and transformative. This experience ignited my dedication to supporting others through their own unique perinatal journeys.
As your Doula, my mission is to create a nurturing, supportive environment where you feel informed, confident, and empowered. I provide trauma-informed, mindful care tailored to your needs, whether navigating a routine pregnancy or facing complexities such as maternal-fetal medicine cases, cesarean deliveries, medical emergencies, or harm reduction during pregnancy.
I also specialize in supporting families managing chronic illnesses or substance use disorders, ensuring they receive compassionate and informed care throughout their perinatal and postpartum experiences.
Recognizing that families extend beyond the mother-baby dyad, I I support single parents, fathers, grandparents, adoptive families, and all caregivers. Parenthood is a shared journey, and every family deserves care and resources tailored to their unique experience.
I also serve as a peer mentor doula with Moms Do Care, where I connect families to essential resources and community supports from pregnancy through postpartum. Additionally, I am proud to be a Board Member of the Green River Doula Network, where we help foster community and support for Doulas, Midwives, and Birth Workers in the Pioneer Valley and beyond.
When I’m not supporting families, I am pursuing my master’s in counseling psychology with a focus on Perinatal Mental Health, working toward licensure. I cherish time with my daughters, exploring nature, enjoying the arts, and connecting with others. I strive to find joy in everyday moments and approach life with gratitude.
